Legislative Ambush
With only a few short hours to go until the inauguration of Barack Obama as our next President we are holding our breath to see if the radical stance on abortion that Obama has threatened will come to pass.
Obama has all but promised to issue an executive order to reverse the “Mexico City policy” a controversial Bush administration abortion policy. Also referred to as “the global gag rule”, this executive order bans taxpayer money from being used to pay for abortion or actively promote abortion in other countries.
While abortion proponents would like nothing better than to have more money for their radical agenda the necessity of taxpayers who do not believe in killing children through abortion is nothing less than a “legislative ambush”.
Should those who believe abortion is murder be forced to pay for an abortion? Should those who believe that life is sacred be forced to help snuff out the divine flame?
The issue is not so much should we be helping other countries through compassion and charity, of course we should. However, throwing money at a problem will not help heal wounds nor will hope be inspired. We can as a nation inspire again but teaching other countries to kill their children is not the way! Are we a nation dedicated to the proposition that liberty is for those who can afford it or are we a nation dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.
