Morality Check

By Ian Kelly

In a response to an article in the New York Times, Jodi Jacobson of RHRealityCheck.org, has this to say,

…there are those of us who believe that abortion is a moral choice. That it is not "killing another human being" to have an abortion before a fetus is viable.  That there are moral reasons for late-term abortions if a woman's life or health is in danger or for other reasons about which the decision should be made between the woman, her doctor, and her God, if she has any.

I cannot tell you how many times I have heard this kind of reasoning from those who support abortion. I am not sure if it is a way to ease the conscience or they really think we’re just that dumb. Either way I am tired of lies and the need for pro-aborts to justify what they are doing.

What is the moral reasoning here? Is it that, as long as the baby can’t survive on it’s own it’s ok to kill it. If this is truly the standard of morality than anyone and anything can be left to die, right? Or, may we can look at it this way – if a child can’t feed itself than let it die.  Does that sound cold and wrong? How about immoral? – Yea, I think so too.

Please, will someone tell me the moral ramifications for killing a child? Anyone? When is this ever ok? What is the morality of crushing a baby’s scull? Why is it appropriate and socially acceptable? What about the morality of viability?!

We learn morals from a lot of places, including history. Let’s learn from our own history and stop treating children in the womb as property like we did the slaves.

Our nation’s morality and history are not on the side of abortion. National travesties, like abortion, are only tolerated for so long before public outrage causes all hideous injustices and cruelty to be removed with abrupt and traumatic results.

Morality Check: Done.

Good word, Ian. Good word. I wonder how embarrassed people will be when they arrive on the other side of history.. and see what was really going on.
