Gandhi Said It

By Ian Kelly

As a follow up to yesterday’s blog post, Depopulating the Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing, I want to bring attention to what Miss Judd said in an interview with Larry King as he questioned her stance on protecting wildlife.

(You can watch the full interview here.)

Larry King: What about people who say to you, “Ashley, you don’t live in Alaska; so it’s 400 wolves – so what?

Ashley Judd: Well, I think that in terms of my response to that, Gandhi said it best: We know everything we need to know about a society by seeing how it treats its animals.

Gandhi… Hmm – Ok. Let’s see what Gandhi has to say about abortion.

“…the methods of bringing about abortion has led to the emancipation of either sex from all moral restraint. No wonder marriage itself is laughed at.”

Or take for instance, when counseling a young man whose unfaithful wife had become pregnant, he stated that it is “clear as daylight that abortion would be a crime”.

I can assure you Ashley Judd would never call abortion a crime. How could she? She believes abortion is a civil right and therefore could not possibly be criminal. But the words of the very man she is using to support her cause cut against everything she stands for. Maybe she should listen to the man she is quoting! Abortion is criminal.

Unlike many in the liberal and pro-choice sphere, Gandhi refused to reduce man to his lowest common denominator—to his animal passions—but instead sought to recognize his inherent dignity, and ultimately to uplift and ennoble him in service to God.

Let’s Recap:

  1. Abortion has lead to marriage being laughed at.
  2. Abortion can be criminal.
  3. Man does not have to act like an animal.

Hey, I didn’t say it… Gandhi did.
