Slaves And Jews

By Ian Kelly

Jesus had a way of saying it how it is – he still does.  What he said to the Pharisees and to his Disciples is just as true now as it was then.

Take for example, Matthew 23, in which Jesus confronts the Pharisees:

29"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous. 30And you say, 'If we had lived in the days of our forefathers, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.' 31So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets.

Jesus told these guys, point blank, you say you are nothing like your forefathers but, by what you say and do, you are exactly the same.

Yeah, they were exactly the same. They said they would not have help in killing any of the Prophets God sent, but they aimed to take Jesus out.

Biblically and historically we know Jesus was right about them.

So how does this apply to us today? I am sure there are a few beneficial ways to interpret this to us – all of which are needed and correct. However, I would like to suggest this one to you:

Many people in the church today would say, “If, I were alive during the time of slavery I would be apart of the Underground Railroad. Absolutely, I would have helped the slaves.” Or some might say, “If, I were in Nazi Germany I would have helped hide the Jews. Yes, I would help the Jews anyway I could.

Ok, so if that is true what are you doing about abortion? Babies are dying everyday. Where are you? If you say you would help the Slave and the Jew then please help the babies. Are they not people as well?

Bottom Line: It’s not enough to simply say you oppose abortion, the systematic killing of innocent children, No! You must put action to your conviction. Does that mean join Bound4LIFE?  - Possibly. There are many different ways you can get involved - but get involved you must…
