Bound4LIFE Rundown

I wanted to write to you today to give you a brief rundown of what's going on with Bound4LIFE, what's on our radar and what's next. Please forgive its length, but I hope you will find it good reading. It is my hope that you would join with Bound4LIFE at this critical time by continuing to take an unwavering stand for the unborn and take every opportunity to provide a faithful witness of God's truth in the nation.
1) It's always nice to find out what you're good at and do more of it. We are continuing to pursue new technologies that will effectively communicate the LIFE message and mobilize prayer warrior activists. We are responding to the huge demand for information to be immediate and simple. Bound4LIFE has embraced the notion that critical flashpoints are coming, and we are committed to building a vibrant grassroots network that can move in a moments notice. We are building a pipeline of vital information that you need to be a part of. 2) Each week we give you a live peek into our world with "Inside Bound4LIFE." Following us on Twitter will enable you to know when we're broadcasting via live Qik video. Don't miss these!
Anecdote: Just this last week B4L Director Matt Lockett broadcast live a clandestine prayer meeting right outside the hearing room for Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor. Just as he was praying intensely for Senator Schumer of the Senate Judiciary Committee, the Senator walked by and heard Matt praying for him by name. Providence!
3) Bound4LIFE recently produced a short one-minute video featuring the radical pro-life shift in American culture. For the first time ever the majority of Americans are pro-life. Already the video is being shown in churches around the country as a way to motivate and activate God's people to push forward. You can see the video "The Numbers Don't Lie" on our YouTube channel. Perhaps your pastor would be open to showing it in your church.
4) JHOP DC was the birthplace of Bound4LIFE in 2004. It has been extremely gratifying for the team to return to DC at Lou Engle's request and assume leadership of the JHOP DC base. Bound4LIFE and JHOP DC have effectively combined to compliment each other. JHOP DC now serves as B4L headquarters and flagship for B4L Chapters all around the nation. This "bricks and mortar" operation is strategically located only two blocks from the Supreme Court and Capitol where we have been conducting a Summer Internship for young adults.
We've been hard at work retooling the JHOP DC website with an entirely new vision. In the next couple of weeks we will be officially launching a brand new site built around a social network of user content called the "First of All" campaign. A few months ago the Lord began to speak clearly to us about mobilizing prayer for every member of Congress. Every single one...by name...all 535 of them. The First of All campaign, taken from 1 Ti 2:1-2, will accomplish this through a repeating 50-day cycle of prayer that gets everyone involved and praying for the same people on the same days. Think of it as a "concentration of force." More to come on this very soon. Stay tuned!
5) We are most concerned right now with how Congress is aggressively working to advance the pro-abortion agenda through Health Care Reform. Lawmakers are forcefully pushing non-public-supported items forward hidden among appropriations while hiding behind deceptive rhetoric. It is clear that the majority of Americans are not comfortable with their tax dollars being used to BAIL OUT the abortion industry. Current trends show that the majority of Americans are abandoning the pro-choice agenda and that this kind of legislative activity is out of step with the mainstream. We must mobilize and contend in prayer for this to be exposed and stopped before the nation suffers devastating loss.
6) Finally, I need to unashamedly ask for your FINANCIAL HELP RIGHT NOW. I hope you see that we're "giving it all we got" and not holding anything back right now. From blogs to internships to videos to daily sieges and much more. We feel the weight of the moment we're living in and are committed to this noble pursuit. Current financial stresses however have taken a severe toll. Just when there is huge opportunity to advance the movement, unprecedented financial pressure threatens to force us to scale back and minimize our efforts.
I'm being uncharacteristically frank right now. Bound4LIFE is a frugal operation. I assure you we squeeze the most out of every dollar of support taking advantage of the fact that each staff member also raises additional missionary support so they can keep doing what they're doing. Already key staff members are being forced to find other work in order to survive. I'm imploring you not to let this worsen. Not now. We are facing the need to downsize right at the moment when we need to double our staff and our efforts. Your support would go directly towards enabling talented and gifted young people to impact culture, policy and lives for the sake of the unborn. It's hard to put a price tag on that.
