Wednesday
You see a lot of folks while praying in front of the Supreme Court day after day. It's an odd mix of people in business suits speed walking to their next meeting; the staffer meandering around on her cell phone while complaining about the boss, tourists running and posing like Rocky on the Court steps; even a Supreme Court Justice. Once Justice Kennedy quietly came out front to look at some new security pylons installed on the sidewalk. I hear they go down in the ground 15' and can stop an 18 wheeler. Wave after wave of guided tours file through the Court promenade. Sometimes it's downright laughable what the tour guides say to their unsuspecting crowds. I've heard a lot of them talk about the separation of Church and State as spelled out in the Constitution. No one ever seems to question that, but–guess what–it's not in there. The best thing I ever heard a tour guide say was, "The statue on the right side of the the court is called 'Authority of Law.' The one on the left is called 'Contemplation of Justice.' And these people out front are standing for the rights of the unborn." I guess if you stand still in the same spot long enough you get "Statue Status."
Of all the people that pass by the Court my favorites are the students. Some just stare at us. Some ask their teachers what we're doing. Some come over to ask themselves. But on a fairly regular basis their teacher will bring the entire class over and ask us to address the whole group. Afterall, we're shining examples of the first amendment. I love those moments. It's like I get to conduct my own school convocations right there on the bleachers of the Supreme Court. I can't imagine a better setup to share the love of God with complete strangers. They probably expect a political shpeel, but instead they get a truth encounter. I love staring into their eyes and telling them that we're praying for the end of abortion because God has a plan for every single one of us. He knew us before we were in the womb and wrote a book about each of our lives. He loves us more than we know, and we're really important to Him. These simple truths fly in the face of every lie the enemy has spoken to them when they're alone in front of their mirror. How many sons and daughters have been carelessly told that they were an accident? I love telling them that they weren't an accident. After they leave I always pray that God would give them the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. Now somebody come water those seeds. Ha!
Wednesday was one of those days. A teacher brought his small high school class from Dallas over to talk to us. After I shared one young African American gal physically took three steps back and said, "I support abortion." Then another African American gal from her class said, "I don't! I'm pro-life." The second gal stepped down from the steps and asked for a piece of Life Tape. She made the entire class wait for her while she stood with our team in prayer for a few minutes. During that time some of the other students asked me questions which led to me sharing about the great tragedy of abortion in the Black community. I shared about how Death From Abortion outnumbers all the other causes of death COMBINED. That includes heart disease, diabetes, cancer, violent crime, etc. That got everyone's attention. The first young gal that had spoken up earlier was visibly impacted. It is shocking to hear that 35% of the abortions are performed on African American women, while they represent only 13% of the female population of the country. Since 1973, more than 14 million Black babies have been killed. This isn't an inappropriate "airing of dirty laundry" as some have suggested. This is "genocide" as some Black prophets are shouting to the nation right now.*
Yesterday...Wednesday...3,300 babies lost their lives due to abortion. 3,300 novels written by the hand of God were burned before one page could be read. 1,238 of them were distinctly Black American. Today is Thursday, and it looks like it will most likely be just like yesterday.
I believe breakthrough is coming though. I believe God has hidden 100 Black prophets in the wilderness cave as this great massacre has taken place (1 Ki 18:4). Let's join with these brothers and sisters to expose this great injustice and lead the nation out of a culture of death.
