As you probably know, today is a tragic anniversary in our nation. It’s the 38th anniversary of Roe. Vs. Wade, the Supreme Court case that legalized abortion, the case that said a baby’s life could be taken away in the womb because “choice” was more important.
Across our nation today both sides of this war are vocal. Pro-Life organizations are holding rallies, marches and prayer meetings, while pro-abortion folks are celebrating and rejoicing their victory of legalized death.
And it was this week that the Lord allowed Dr. Kermit Gosnell’s sick abortion clinic to be exposed for all the world to see. This is abortion, America. Gosnell’s exposure was a 38th anniversary peek into the reality of what our nation has given itself to for a generation. His clinic was more a picture of the truth than we would like to believe. Gosnell is the very picture of what abortion is. Let’s not be deceived by rhetoric. God makes His stance to a nation that allows this very clear:
In you they have made light of father and mother; in your midst they have oppressed the stranger; in you they have mistreated the fatherless and the widow. You have despised My holy things and profaned My Sabbaths. In you are men who slander to cause bloodshed (Ezekiel 22:7-9a)
The argument that a God of love would not judge a nation is false. God is a God of love, yet His love is for those whose blood is being shed as well, and it sickens our Father, their Father. He must defend them if we won’t. He says:
Behold, therefore, I beat My fists at the dishonest profit which you have made, and at the bloodshed which has been in your midst. Can your heart endure, or can your hands remain strong, in the days when I shall deal with you? I, the LORD, have spoken, and will do it. (Ezekiel 22:13-14)
Today as some celebrate and some mourn, but most go on with a casual Saturday, please stop. Please remember the Life Band Covenant and renew your vow to pray for the ending of abortion:
Jesus, I plead your blood over my sins, and the sins of my nation. God, end abortion, and send revival to America.
