  • Life, abortion, and Huggies

Posted by Ellie Saul on February 5, 2013

    Please watch this commercial.

When I saw it I was so encouraged! Yes! She has a life, a human life growing inside of her. A human being from conception to the first positive test, to the first heart beat, to the first breath. My heart was encouraged because it appears a national brand is advocating life! A national brand is presenting to you America, a human being. This is not a blob, not unviable cells; this is a human being in the womb.

I thought that since Huggies acknowledged life in the womb they might advocate preserving life at every stage. I wanted to do all I could to promote them and this message, so I began to research them. What I found was startling. Huggies is a brand of Kimberly-Clark. Kimberly-Clark partners with Girls for a Change which was partially founded by Planned Parenthood.

The same mouth that acknowledges life advocates killing it in the name of choice and “girl power.”

It saddens me that so many brands promote death. I don’t know if the solution is boycotting everything. I believe boycotts can be powerful, but only if they are initiated by Holy Spirit and led by Him and empowered by Him instead of being derived from anger. The only hope we have is to pray to the One we know hears and receives our prayers. The abortion industry is changing. They are no longer afraid to call a life a life. they are increasingly agreeing that life exists in the womb and at the same time devaluing that life and justifying destroying it for convenience without apology.

It is no longer enough to pray for life to be acknowledged in the womb. We have to pray that the life finally being acknowledged becomes valuable to the hearts set on destroying it. Please rejoice with me that finally even the most radical abortion advocates are recognizing life in the womb. Please pray with me urgently that God would release to America an appreciation and value for life in the womb. Please pray that with the recognition of life in the womb comes value of life, in the name of Jesus.

Life is valuable. People are valuable. Somewhere in this shadow of the valley of abortion, we have lost sight of the divine value of contained in each and every person. The overall current of lack of value even sometimes seeps in to our hearts and makes us forget that we are valuable. We have to go against this current of death and rejection and believe that we are valuable. As you read these words please open your heart to receive the truth that you are valuable. As you realize your value, please open your life to acknowledge the value in others, and join me in starting today.

Let’s begin with practically showing people that they are valuable and treating others with honor and dignity regardless of their “position.” I believe that if we genuinely show every person we meet that he or she is valuable, the value for life will seep into hearts and turn the tide of abortion in America.
