My spiritual father introduced me to spoken word a few years ago. Immediately, I fell in love with it and began to use it as an outlet to express things that I felt passionate about, or ideas that God would put on my heart. A few months after discovering this new passion, God began to deeply burden me with the issue of abortion; specifically as it relates to the African American community. As I began to research the roots of abortion, I was introduced to a documentary called Maafa 21 that stirred a righteous indignation within me. This spoken word written as a letter to Planned Parenthood is a result of that.
TRUST BLACK WOMEN! Those words were loudly chanted as a group of Georgia State University students interrupted Ryan Bomberger’s lecture on abortion and black genocide. Bomberger is the creator of the www.toomanyaborted.com abortion awareness campaign. He has used his creativity and passion to design billboards that proclaim “Black children are an endangered species,” “Black & Beautiful,” and most recently “Fatherhood begins in the womb,” These billboards have been placed in cities across our country and have gathered much support as well as opposition. “Sistersong,” a pro-choice group launched their own campaign in response to the success of the billboards called “Trust Black Women." They deceive women of color into believing the murder of the unborn is a form of “reproductive justice.”
Last week we reported that a pro-life organization, Life Always, had started a billboard campaign in Chicago using the image of President Obama as an example of how abortion strips the public of its potential leaders. The campaign uses the slogan "Every 21 minutes our next possible leader is aborted" and leads people to That’s Abortion’s website to get more information.
What was notable about this was twofold. First, a billboard had already been removed in Times Square in New York as being too controversial and racist, despite NYC having an almost 60% abortion rate among African-Americans. Second, the billboard positively portrays the president, who has, sadly, not shown himself to be against abortion, as someone who has contributed to society. It’s actually a pro-African-American billboard, but that wasn’t what a group of vandals thought.
The latest poster child for raising awareness of the issues of the number of African-Americans aborted is actually a man—President Obama. Jill Stanek reports that beginning tomorrow new billboards in Chicago, sponsored by Life Always, will feature the president with the tagline:
“Every 21 minutes, our next possible leader is aborted.”
This is the same organization that placed billboards in NYC that were ultimately taken down over threats of violence—a very ironic reason since the point was that 60% of African-Americans in New York City are never born because of abortion.

Yet, I can’t bring myself to say that (at least not to her), because….well, she believes in some god who is going to care if she has an abortion or not.
The first Holocaust is the one most people talk about still. Hitler. Germany. The attempted extermination of the Jews. It was, inarguably, one of the greatest horrors in this history of the world. That will never change.
What has changed are the enemy’s methods.
In Rees Howell’s Intercessor, the chronicle of Howells’ fight against Hitler and the Nazis through prayer strikes a familiar chord to those of us fighting the current holocaust attempting to exterminate a generation through abortion.
A common accusation against people like me is that we exaggerate when we use terms like genocide or holocaust. First let’s look at those definitions. According to the Random House Dictionary, holocaust meanings include: “any mass slaughter or reckless destruction of life.” Genocide means “the deliberate and systematic extermination of a national, racial, political, or cultural group.”
Just 70 years ago, there was a catastrophic war that devastated the earth: World War II. This has been described as the deadliest conflict in human history, with over 70 million people killed. At this time was also an epic and horrific genocide of the Jewish people, where 6 million lives were lost. In our generation, we face a death toll of a different kind, but possibly just as devastating. It is estimated that worldwide, there are 46 million abortions every year. Statistics show that yearly in the United States, the lives of over 1.2 million children are ended in womb.
Something is wrong.
There is a modern holocaust that has yet to be recorded. In the past 50 years, the killing of babies has been integrated into the global conscience, and as a whole, we remain mostly undisturbed! In less than a century, there have been nearly a billion lives lost to abortion.
Can we begin to grapple with the implications of innocent bloodshed at this magnitude?
