The Obama Administration, who last year mandated health care coverage for everyone, has now mandated cancer causing drugs for anyone who wants them—free.
Recently, the decision to mandate all insurance offer free birth control, with no copays, for all women, which generally is in the form of oral contraceptives, including abortion pills, has created much fire anyway. We’ve already posted about the fact that oral contraceptives can cause an abortion, not just the ones we know as abortion pills but the ones most women on the pill take daily.
The Catholic church has come out to protest the federal birth control mandate which violates their moral code and religious freedom, since the conscience clause isn’t enough to cover most of their organizations. I could write columns on this alone, and the very disturbing lack of choice for some of us with very strong, if unpopular, pro-life convictions. But what I read this week stunned me: A 2006 study partially funded by the same agency mandating free birth control, showed that oral contraceptives are linked to caner. It’s terribly ironic that the in the name of women’s health care we are funding an increased cancer risk, a fact conveniently forgotten by the Obama Administration.
