• House Votes 240-185 to Remove Funding for Planned Parenthood

  Even Democrats joined in the chorus today as the House overwhelmingly voted to defund Planned Parenthood. Voting 240-185, the House voted in support of Rep. Mike Pence’s (R-IN) amendment that would bar federal funding of the abortion provider.

  This historic vote came in light of Live Action’s undercover videos exposing multiple Planned Parenthoods’ willingness to aid in sex trafficking and offer advice on covert abortions for underage girls. Meanwhile, the nation has been shocked by Dr. Kermit Gosnell’s house of horrors abortion clinic in Philadelphia. All of these events, no doubt, precipitated the decision in the House which will now go to the Senate floor.

• Another Open Response to Planned Parenthood: Why You Should Be Defunded

  Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood of America Federation is upset. Richards has alerted her readers of a “dangerous” threat to women’s health—or perhaps Planned Parenthood’s pocketbook. As the House prepares to vote on defunding abortion providers, Richards is warning supporters that the House is trying to take away health care that so many need. Once again, I am copying the text of her letter and responding in bold underneath.

   

  This week, anti-choice House leadership is forcing a vote on the most dangerous legislative assault on women’s health in Planned Parenthood’s 95-year history.

   

  People who believe in the right to life have realized that organizations like yours actually hurt women in the name of dollars and cents. Those elected (as the result of the people’s choice, I might add) are taking a stand to do what’s right.

• Planned Parenthood’s Recent Report: 324,008 Abortions

  In case you had any doubt that Planned Parenthood might really be about “health care” and not abortion, take a look at this. Planned Parenthood publicly admits in its recently released annual report that in 2008 it performed 324,008 abortions. Read: Babies killed.

   

  If you read the fact sheet, published by Planned Parenthood, you will see they announce that only 3% of their services are abortions, thereby perpetuating the lie that that isn’t what they are about. However, that’s not exactly true. Other services are parts of abortion services. For example, before performing an abortion, a woman has a pregnancy test, might receive contraception services and/or STD testing, yet it’s all part of the abortion, but listed in separate categories.
