Many of us grew up watching the TV sitcom, “Growing Pains”, in the 1990s but probably never imagined that the star of the show, Kirk Cameron, would one day be a voice for the anti-abortion movement and other Christian values in this country. Cameron did not back down from hard-hitting questions on CNN’s “Piers Morgan Tonight” last Friday. In an age where bold biblical values are rarely expressed in the mainstream media, Cameron clearly voiced his anti-abortion views in one segment of the interview, which you can see here or read below.

Piers Morgan: What is your view on abortion?

Kirk Cameron: I think that it’s wrong

PM: Under any circumstances? Even rape or incest?

KC: I think that someone who is ultimately willing to murder a child, even to fix another tragic and devastating situation like rape or incest or things like that is not taking the moral high road. I think we’re compounding the problem by also murdering a little child.

PM: Could you honestly look a daughter in the eye if she was raped, and say you have got to have that child?

KC: Yes and “I will help you.”

PM: You would do that?

KC: Yes of course.

PM: Wow. I find that amazing that people would say that.

KC: Oh, because I love my daughter, I love that little child. This is a little creature made in God’s image. Perhaps—imagine—if you were the result of that and you had been aborted. We wouldn’t be here having this conversation. I value life above all things.

In the aftermath of the interview, Cameron received tremendous backlash for his comments on these and other values he expressed on “Piers Morgan Tonight.” Morgan responded to the backlash by calling Cameron “brave” for voicing these views, knowing the repercussions that such statements would cause in the media.

When is covering up incest and rape acceptable? If you’re the DC Abortion Fund (DCAF) , the answer seems to be when someone needs money for an abortion and you can cover it up with a legal technicality. The tax-exempt DCAF is one of a network of organizations whose purpose is to help women pay for abortions. Its most recent annual report is laden with disturbing information, including funding abortions for children under 18, working with late term abortionist Leroy Carhart, and providing abortions at over 24 weeks, as well as helping a victim, raped by her father, secretly abort without any reporting of the crime of rape or domestic violence.

The recent Penn State scandal was marked with cover up and collusion like this. When football coach and hero Joe Paterno was accused of covering up sex crimes, the nation was outraged. Though his acts were considered “legal” at the end of the day, they certainly were not considered ethical. That’s why it’s abhorrent to see a report weeks later from the DCAF boldly bragging about how it “helped” 19-year old Camille, 18 weeks pregnant, abort. DCAF pushes every line of the law and medical ethics with its actions. Legal doesn’t equal ethical and it certainly doesn’t equal justice for this poor rape victim.

Here’s part of the story from DCAF:

That’s why it’s abhorrent to see a report only weeks later from the DCAF boldly bragging about how it “helped” 19-year old Camille, 18 weeks pregnant, abort. DCAF pushes every line of the law and medical ethics with its actions. Legal doesn’t equal ethical, and it certainly doesn’t equal justice for this poor rape victim.

Here’s part of the story from DCAF:

Camille was a 19-year-old teenager who had graduated from high school the year before and was living at home with her father. She called the DCAF helpline, whispering her message into the phone. She had been raped a few months ago and had not wanted to tell anyone about it, but realized she was pregnant and decided to have an abortion. The man who assaulted her was her dad…. Camille was scared of what would happen if she reported her dad to the police, but without a police report, she couldn’t use her Virginia Medicaid to cover her procedure. On top of that, she was 18 weeks pregnant by that point, meaning she would have to go out of state since most clinics in Virginia only provide first-trimester abortion care.

Sadly, in the state of Virginia, there are no mandatory reporting laws for rape, even incestuous rape when the victim is over 18. However, can anyone who knows about sex abuse believe that the day Camille turned 18, Daddy decided to rape her—and only once? That a place that exists to help fund abortions would help pay for one is not shocking, but that they would use a year end report to brag about how they helped cover a father who raped his daughter is shameful. In a sense, this protects the assailant, allowing a rapist, arguably of the worst kind, a father who rapes his daughter, go free. Should a year or two in age permit incest and domestic violence to be legal? Certainly there are flaws in the law here, but the fact that a place purported to help women and care about that would use the law to its advantage and then public brag about it is a sick stance of values.

The DCAF is not alone in its work. It’s part of the National Network of Abortion Funds (NNAF) a registered non-profit agency that receives tax-exempt benefits for its work in areas such as covering up rape on technicalities, providing late-term abortions, and helping underage children get abortions. In 2010, its most recently available IRS 990 tax form declares it to be a “charitable and scientific educational” organization, which is part of its basis for receiving its tax-exempt status. Its income is reported as $827,802.

The DCAF not only helps hide parents who rape their children, but it helps fund those expensive later-term abortions, and brags about that as well, working in conjunction with people like late-term abortion doctor Leroy Carhart, known for being willing to abort babies who could survive outside the womb. DCAF reports:

“[I]n Maryland, with Dr. LeRoy Carhart providing advanced abortion care, our fund has taken on even more responsibility to help women in dire circumstances be seen by a provider.”

Actually, if you want to see them and live out of state, they’d prefer you coming for a later-term abortion:

Women coming to the DC region from outside of the above areas will also be eligible for funding; – 9+ weeks into the pregnancy with priority given to women in the second trimester.

In its annual report for last year, DCAF says it subsidized 127 first trimester abortions, 388 second trimester abortions, and 48 abortions at the age of 24 Weeks plus.

What’s notable about Carhart’s involvement is that he opened his practice in Maryland in Dec of 2010, and the DCAF fiscal year for which this report is applicable, ended on June 30; this is the first recent year in which DCAF is reporting 24 week and later abortion funding—and 48 babies 24 weeks or older were aborted because of the help of this tax-exempt organization.

Rounding out the list is DCAF’s report that “of the 515 patients, 10.5% were under 18 years of age.” Minors are being given money for abortion, as well. We certainly cannot presume that there was more sexual abuse or statutory rape simply from these unrelated reports, nor can we assume there wasn’t parental consent, but it does call into question their practices and at least pose the questions of their criteria for funding the abortions of minors.

The DCAF is a tax-exempt corporation that openly tells its supporter how it helped cover up an iincestuous, domestic violence relationship, with no comments of following up with her or how they helped her beyond that. Then they openly report that 10.5% of people they pay for abortions for are under the age of 18.

There’s no doubt that most who come to a place like this are probably desperate and scared, but is the answer to toss money at them, take the baby (sometimes viable) from their womb and send them on their way? Giving someone a phone number of a crisis clinic isn’t help. And giving cash for abortions to women with bigger crises than an undesired child may be the real damage done to women because when someone like Camille goes home, what’s to stop her dad from raping her again? This baby is gone, but the real problem isn’t.

While DCAF and its parent network NNAF may operate on legal technicalities, it would behoove us to look at this organization closely and ask tough questions, especially related to underage abortion funding and incest. These are areas in which the victims need people watching out for the "helpers."

In response to this story, a mother ("Lifer") posted this amazing story of love and hope in the comments section:

I am the mother of a child who was almost aborted due to the "counseling" given at the abortion clinic. My daughter's birth mom was raped at 13. She was taken to the clinic where she spent (according to her mother) approximately 6 hours. During this time she was given an ultrasound, but not permitted to see the screen.

She was counseled by staff, including a "doctor" who told her at 20 wks, her baby wasn't formed yet. When she asked about adoption, she was told, "No one will want a bi-racial, rapist's baby". When she still hesitated, they told her if she did not consent to the abortion, she would die (due to her age). So, believing she would die giving birth to a baby no one would want, she gave in & they started to manually dilate her cervix with metal rods for a D&E. She was awake because her mother wasn't told to bring enough money to cover general anesthesia. During the painful dilation process, she got upset & the abortionist stopped & told her mom "she is making my job too difficult" and had them reschedule to allow the mother to get more money.

She was taken to the clinic where she spent (according to her mother) approximately 6 hours. During this time she was given an ultrasound, but not permitted to see the screen.

She was counseled by staff, including a "doctor" who told her at 20 wks, her baby wasn’t formed yet. When she asked about adoption, she was told, "No one will want a bi-racial, rapist’s baby". When she still hesitated, they told her if she did not consent to the abortion, she would die (due to her age). So, believing she would die giving birth to a baby no one would want, she gave in & they started to manually dilate her cervix with metal rods for a D&E. She was awake because her mother wasn’t told to bring enough money to cover general anesthesia. During the painful dilation process, she got upset & the abortionist stopped & told her mom "she is making my job too difficult" and had them reschedule to allow the mother to get more money.

During the week before the rescheduled abortion, the young mother learned the truth about fetal development, her risks & options. That someone (my husband & I) would love her baby & that the baby was not "unwanted" under any circumstances. She chose life. She saw (& mailed us) a copy of the ultrasound done by her ob/gyn…an amazing image of my daughter’s face @ 23 wks. This photo brought great joy to both her family & ours. She framed the picture of the "rapist’s spawn" (oh that just angers me!!!)

When she delivered, I was in the room. I think somewhere deep down some in the room, after the "counseling", were believing that a tiny rapist was going to emerge. A monster with horns. I’ve heard of babies conceived from rape referred to as "demon seed" and "the Devil’s spawn". But no. This was a precious baby girl w/ dark curls & fat cheeks. The tears of pure joy in that room were flowing freely & the love expressed for each other & this tiny baby was beyond measure. Some make wild assumptions & justifications for abortion following a rape without the life knowledge of what living through the experience is really like…or what it could be like. Our daughter’s birth mom has remained a part of our lives…we LOVE her too! She thanks us for adopting & raising her daughter…how humbling. She loves her daughter & is, in every way, the very definition of a "mother" because she showed selfless love for her child. We honor her. She was able to finish school, graduate, continue her education & is a medical assistant with goals to work with the babies in the hospital where she delivered. ?

Thank you "Lifer" for sharing this story. Like man others I teared up when reading this.

Truly, love is the better way.

When is a baby not a baby according to pro-aborts? When you don't want it.

The folks over at Abortion Gang hate the idea of women being shown ultrasounds of the child they are about to abort and insist the purpose of the ultrasounds are succeeding only in "traumatizing women and making them feel guilty."

They than take it a step further and pull on the heart strings by painting the awful scenario of woman raped and now pregnant (I think it worth while to note that less than 2% of all abortions are performed for rape, incest and life of the mother).

I believe the author really cares and hurts for women have been victimized by rape but her approach to helping these women is way off and her attitude toward the child is cold, uncaring and almost resentful.

Here is what the author writes:

Shielding her face from screaming protesters outside, she makes her way in, where she’s told the law says she has to look at her rapist’s spawn on a screen.

(…)

But now, an image of exactly what a man’s penis forced inside of her created plays along with her nightmares, forever burned in her mind.

"Rapist spawn"? From the way this author writes you would think that this "spawn" also know as a child, is to blame for what happened to this woman. The entire experience that this author creates for you in an attempt to see her side of the story is, in one moment, shattered by her total disregard for human life. She pretends that there are no other options other than to kill this baby going so far as to say:

…there’s no way she could have raised a child born of that horrible violence.

What about adoption? What about instead of killing the child we catch the rapist?

Martin Luther King Jr. once said,

Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars… Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.

I believe that. Was he an idealist for thinking this? Yes. But his "dreams" changed a nation.

Am I an idealist? Perhaps. But killing babies conceived out of rape is nothing short violence multiplying violence.

A new undercover videotape shows staff at a Tennessee Planned Parenthood abortion clinic urging a client to lie about her potential sexual abuse so she could get an abortion. A girl who said she is 14 and sexually abused by a 31-year-old man was told to hide the information from a judge.

The staff members at the nation’s largest abortion business told the young woman to conceal the information so a judge would approve her request for an abortion without parental involvement, which is required by state law except in emergency cases.

Lila Rose, 20-year-old UCLA student who has headed up a project to expose Planned Parenthood employees who engage in sexual abuse cover-up, released the video footage on Monday.

Rose went to the Planned Parenthood’s Memphis Health Center undercover and told a counselor that a supposed boyfriend twice her age impregnated her and that she wanted an abortion without her parents knowing.

Tennessee Code 37-1-605 requires health professionals to report suspected cases of sexual abuse of minors to law enforcement immediately.

Instead of notifying officials about the apparent sexual abuse, a Planned Parenthood counselor tells Rose on camera that she doesn’t want to continue the line of conversation about the sexual abuse.

"Look, if we keep this conversation I’m gonna have to talk to my manager and yeah, [your boyfriend]‘s gonna get in trouble," the staffer says. "And please don’t say that I told you this."

When Rose tells the counselor she thinks her boyfriend will get in trouble if her parents find out, the counselor advises Rose to lie about the man’s age when speaking to a judge in order to obtain a bypass of Tennessee’s parental consent law for abortion.

"Don’t mention it. Just say you have a boyfriend 17 years old…whatever," the staffer says.

"The Planned Parenthood counselor hears about the abuse says she should report it, decides to remain silent, then tells me to lie to the judge about a 31-year-old man."

(via Lifenews.com)

This is only one instance in a line of illegal conduct on behalf of Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers.

Is it not enough for Planned Parenthood to receive millions of taxpayer dollars? Now they need to dictate when the law is applicable? Is lying to judges a part of the DNA of Planned Parenthood? So far, YES. Their ability to circumvent the law, with nothing more than a slap on the wrist, is reprehensible.

Planned Parenthood continues their practice of covering up rape and protecting sexual predators and should have legal action taken against the entire network. When will the local government step in and protect our young women from people like Planned Parenthood?
